Meet our team.
Brianna Morgan
Geelong Athlete Centre co-owner
ASCA Level 2 Strength and conditioning Coach
High Performance Coach
Current Strength & Conditioning Coach Western Bulldogs AFLW
Bri is the visionary behind the Geelong Athlete Centre and brings years of experience and knowledge to her coaching. Bri always dreamed of having a training centre focused purely on the preparation of athletes, and she is passionate about providing a high performance training facility to all levels of athletes, from junior through to elite. This dream started when Bri attended The University of Houston on a tennis scholarship, where she had the opportunity to train in a college athlete gym environment.
“Gym training can sometimes be tedious and at times really hard. There is nothing quite like training with other athletes, the intensity is higher, the energy is electric, the vibration is just mental. It undoubtedly helps you get through tough training sessions.”
This college gym culture was the vision behind the Geelong Athlete Centre, not far from how it feels to train at other elite facilities closer to home such as the state and national sports institutes and elite sporting clubs.
“Not every athlete has the opportunity to train in these types of environments, so with this facility our aim is to bring high performance culture and training to any athlete wanting to reach their peak.”
Bri’s expertise in preparing athletes for high performance is second to none. Her qualifications include a Masters degree in High Performance Sport, a Bachelor degree in Applied Science (Human Movement) (Honours), and a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science/ Bachelor of Commerce (Sport Management). She is a qualified Level 2 ASCA strength and conditioning coach, member of the ASCA professional coaches scheme and a pilates teacher. With elite level experience working at the Victorian Institute of Sport and the Geelong Football Club as well as owning and operating her own coaching business for over 10 years, Bri is a high class coach and mentor to any aspiring athlete.

After finishing his time at Geelong he moved back to St Joseph’s to Captain/Coach the club and finally finished up his playing days in 2017.
David also played his junior football with St Joseph’s and played several seasons of senior football with St Josephs in the GFL before concentrating solely on cricket. In addition to his playing experience, David has fantastic experience coaching local level football, having coached St Joseph’s under 16 team for two years, coordinated the senior strength & conditioning program for two years and coached the Torquay Football Club under 18 team.

This experience combined with many years playing and coaching sport is a huge asset to the Geelong Athlete Centre. There is no doubt that David’s energy, passion and integrity as a person and coach is a great compliment to the team.
Pip Robertson
ASCA Level 1 Strength and conditioning Coach
Pip grew up playing a variety of sports competitively and developed a passion for sport and exercise from a young age. She competed in netball, aussie rules, and triathlons throughout her whole childhood in Bendigo.
During high school, she excelled in physical education studies and knew that sport performance was a career she wanted to pursue. Since then, Pip has taken up long distance running as her main sport, and has developed a love for strength and conditioning as both a coach and an athlete.
Pip is in her final year of a bachelor’s degree in exercise science at Deakin University. Throughout her degree, she has developed a passion for high performance strength and conditioning.
Completing her placement hours at Geelong Athlete Centre gave her an opportunity to grow and refine her skills as a coach. Pip was a standout during her placement and it was a no brainer to bring her on as a Coach at GAC.
To further her knowledge and expertise, Pip has completed her certificate III in fitness, and her level 1 ASCA accreditation, and is keen to continue to expand her knowledge as she begins her career at Geelong Athlete Centre.
“I am so excited to be working in a high energy environment alongside a diverse group of athletes. I love working with athletes. While everyone in the gym is on their own sport journeys, we all share a collective goal of getting 1% better every day. Being a part of that journey as a coach is so special and rewarding.”
Dave Sobey
ESSA Level 1 Sport Scientist
ASCA Level 2 Strength and conditioning Coach
Like most young kids, Dave grew up fully immersed in various sports, which is where his desire to work in elite sport evolved. Dave was an avid tennis player throughout his junior years, playing competitions every weekend.
Dave completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise & Sport Science) at RMIT including a semester abroad at San Diego State University in the USA. This was an awesome opportunity for Dave to see the intricacies of college sport & the development of collegian athletes. This furthered Dave’s passion for sport and the support roles required to allow athletes to fulfil their sporting potential.
Dave brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, having worked with the North Melbourne AFL team for the past 7 years as a Sport Scientist and in Strength & Conditioning. Dave was the VFL High Performance Manager for the 2021 season, which was a great experience in furthering his skillset in working in a high-performance team.
